Why Apple M1 Systems Don’t Allow Sideloading Apps

Apple’s latest computer processor, known as the M1 chip, is one of the most powerful and efficient computer processors in the current computer market. Despite the fact that it arrived in the market just a few days ago, it currently owns a considerable computer processor market share. According to some reports, it is exceptionally impressive in terms of performance and durability.

Apple has completely blocked users from sideloading apps on all Mac devices that use M1 processors. Many users are not happy with this new change in the latest M1 Macs as they are unable to install applications from other sources on their Mac. Apple stops its M1 users from installing new applications via the sideloading method and using already installed apps.

Now users cannot install iOS applications on their Mac devices through the sideloading technique. Some users are unable to understand why Apple is doing this to the M1 Macs only. In this guide, we are going to explain why the company has wholly blocked sideloading apps on M1.

Let’s get started.

M1 Macs- The Capability to Run iOS apps

All Apple computers that utilize M1 processors are capable of running iOS applications without any problem at all. These new generation Mac computers are utterly compatible with iPhone or iPad apps. Users can simply visit the Mac App Store and download any iPad or iPhone app right from there.

The issue is that the app developers have a right to make their apps unavailable on Mac App Store so that users cannot use their iPhone or iPad applications on the Mac computer. Since Apple made its new M1 Macs with iOS app compatibility, most of the app developers have stripped their applications from the Mac App Store so that users cannot use them on Mac.

However, some smart users were still able to install these iOS applications on their Mac via the sideloading method. Using some third-party installer tools, users could install iPhone or iPad applications on a Mac, even though the developers didn’t allow users to do so. Many users were using this sideloading method, but since it was not a good thing to forcefully use iOS applications on a Mac, Apple has now completely stripped off this feature on their computers. Users can no longer use the sideloading method to install iOS applications on their Mac computers.

Users can only utilize the applications available on the Mac App Store. The applications that are not available on Mac App Store cannot be installed using any third-party tool. Apple has recently fixed the loophole that was allowing users to install applications on Mac via Sideloading.

Since Apple took this decision, there would surely be some good reasons behind their initiative to block sideloading on M1 Macs.

This new initiative from Apple has now become a hot matter for debate for M1 users. According to Tim Webb, a music app blogger, Apple’s new decision to block all sideloading methods on their M1 Macs makes him very frustrating whenever he thinks about it. Many other customers regret their decision to buy an M1 powered Mac since they cannot install any applications as per their preference on the Mac except using the Mac App Store. Some other users find their new Mac computer like a prison as they have been wholly tied with too many rules and restrictions.

No doubt that Windows-powered computers are far better in terms of features when compared with Mac computers. This is because you can easily install any applications of your choice on your Windows computer. You can use any method to install software on your computer if you have a Windows 10 PC. When we look at an M1 powered Mac, we can easily see that there are too many restrictions for installing customized softwares. That is why many customers are now not happy with their recent purchase.

Apple’s amendment to stop users from sideloading apps has become a major issue amongst the M1 Mac users and its potential buyers. We expect that Apple will think about its recent decision, and it might allow its users to install applications on their device as per their own preference, that’s the real freedom of a customer. Consumers deserve to use their devices as per their own choice, not as per the manufacturer’s, some M1 Mac consumers said.

Many people want Apple to rethink its recent amendment, and it should let its users install and use applications according to their preferences. We also think it would be better to remove the recently added restrictions from the M1 Macs. No doubt that Apple will lose tons of potential customers if it does nothing with the recently amended app installation rules.

People will love to buy a computer that provides them more customization and liberty to install applications. Nobody wants such limitations on their computer. No doubt that the Mac App Store has some really necessary and relevant applications, but many applications are not available there. Therefore, it will be a lot better if people can install new apps on their Mac using other methods as well.
